With determination and a clear vision of his future, Adrián Huertas shares exclusively with BVMPRS BRAND his next goals and the path he plans to follow to achieve them.
How old were you when you started in the world of motorcycling?
I started in the world of motorcycling at the age of 4 but due to the regulations at that time I couldn't start competing until I was 6.
What or who inspired you to become a professional pilot?
I was inspired by watching the races on TV, and especially Dani Pedrosa, who caught my attention because he was the shortest driver.
When you started, did you imagine that you would become world champion in 2021?
During the beginning of that same season I started to feel very good with the team and the bike and at that moment I knew that we could aspire to great things.
How do you handle the pressure before an important race?
Especially with a lot of prior preparation, I know that I have trained a lot for that type of situation, so I just manage my emotions and take it as training that I have already done previously.
Do you have any habits before going out on the track?
The truth is that pilots are very superstitious, I have quite a few superstitions, such as crossing myself before going out on the track or to a race.
How do you handle moments when things don't go as planned during a race?
I try to quickly refocus on the race plan, adapt to situations and get back to concentration.
What advice would you give to young pilots who dream of becoming professionals?
I would advise them to enjoy every moment to the fullest, which is the most important thing, then if the talent and work are in place they will arrive.
How do you see yourself in the world of motorcycling in the coming years?
I work hard every day to be competitive where I compete. In the coming years, great challenges await me, but I hope to reach the top with work, discipline and effort.
Are there any hobbies or passions outside of motorcycling that you enjoy? I really enjoy spending time with my friends and family, and I also really enjoy the various disciplines and sports that keep me fit.
What impact has your family had on your sports career?
My family has had a brutal impact on my sports career, since without their help I would not have gotten anywhere.
